Baked Butternut Squash

I meant to buy spaghetti squash,  obviously I didn't know what it looked like because I accidentally bought butternut squash instead.

(Readers thought - Those don't look at all the...)
Well anyway...on to how you cook BUTTERNUT SQUASH:

1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
2. Take a large sharpened knife and cut them right down the middle so they look like this (don't hurt yourself):

The insides were heart shaped, how cute.
3. Scoop out the seeds and either - soak for Roasted Pumpkin/Squash Seeds or discard. Brush canola/olive oil on all parts of the squash and lay flat down on a foil lined baking sheet as such:
Shiny!
Bake for about 35 minutes until mostly soft through out when poked with knife or fork then flip over for the last 7-10 minutes and remove when they are completely soft and look like this:

There are many different ways to eat these. The simplest has to be to add butter and brown sugar and serve. There are also many delicious soups and sauces and the like that can be made with Butternut Squash. Try 'em out!

See you next squash day with SPAGHETTI SQUASH (I hope).
