Cranberry Sauce

Cranberry Sauce

1 cup water
1/2 - 3/4 cup sugar
1 12 oz bag fresh cranberries
Zest of one orange
Juice of half an orange
Dash of ground ginger

1. Add water and sugar to a medium sized pot and bring to a boil.
2. Wash cranberries and then add them to the pot along with the zest and juice of the orange.
3. Bring back to a boil then lower heat to medium.
4. Stir occasionally while the sauce reduces - for about 10 minutes.
5. After about 10 minutes, add a dash of ginger, stir, then remove from heat.
6. Pour into a bowl/container and after bringing to room temperature, place in the refrigerator.

* Can be made up to a week ahead of time.

In Pictures

Rinse the Cranberries.

Add them to the boiling sugar water.
 Add orange zest and juice.
Add ginger and cook until reduced - should start looking similar to this.
This picture below was taken right after I poured it into the bowl. In other words, should reduce to look like this.
What I Learned -

1. I love fresh cranberry sauce. This recipe was really easy, not much new to learn.
